Apple just released the MagSafe Battery Pack, its new portable battery pack that attaches magnetically to the iPhone 12 lineup to charge your iPhone with that handy MagSafe connection.
One of the things we can always expect when a new Apple product hits the market is a teardown, and YouTube channel ChargerLAB has already put one together.
Hello everyone, welcome back to ChargerLAB. We all know that Apple has released the MagSafe battery pack for iPhone 12 series. We bought it immediately after it began to sell. So, today, we gonna bring the teardown of this latest apple’s power bank to you.
The teardown reveals that the MagSafe Battery Pack is actually built out of two charging coils, some shielding for heat dissipation, and a magnetic ring that allows the battery pack to attach itself magnetically to the MagSafe coil in your iPhone 12.
As we reported earlier, the MagSafe Battery Pack offers different charging speeds depending on if you have it plugged in or not as well as the wattage of the power adapter you are using when charging it.
The new MagSafe Battery Pack aligns with the magnets inside the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro series. It automatically charges without the need to turn it on or off. With a Lightning cable, you can expect 15W of wireless charging. With a higher than 20W power adapter, you can charge both the MagSafe Battery Pack and your iPhone even faster.
Apple’s newest accessory doesn’t ship with a cable or adapter. For the MagSafe Battery Pack, the iPhone maker suggests purchasing a 20W or higher USB-C Power Adapter and USB-C to Lightning Cable. Each is sold separately.
Apple’s MagSafe Battery Pack is available now for $99. If you want to see your other battery pack options, check out our list of the Best iPhone 12 battery cases 2021.
